BBC uses incorrect logo from "Halo" for UN Security Council

Looks like BBC made a bit of a gaming goof on international television during one of their segments involving the United Nations Security Council and Syria. Though even the hardest of gamers might have glazed over the error while it was happening, once it is pointed out there is no doubt -- the respectable BBC misused the logo of a fictional organization from the Halo games in place of the correct one created by the UN Security Council.

One might be able to understand the error. After all, the two organizations do share the same acronym: UNSC. A cursory search for "UNSC" on Google image search shows that it's one of the top results. However, taking a look at the image context and doing a bit of research beforehand should have solved this problem.

I bet some intern somewhere is cursing himself right now.

Day One

So my new blog, Nerdtopia, now exists, and as day one begins I wonder how to start. Though I have blogged before, this part always gets me. I suppose the best way to start is with some brief personal introduction, and then on to the goals of the blog.

I am a college student in California, USA. I like nerdy stuff (as I am sure you can clearly see), and I love the internet. I figured what better way to combine the two than to blog about it, right? Hopefully it goes half as well as I would like.

My goals for the blog include having loyal readers who enjoy the content I write about frequently, as well as injecting new traffic into the site to keep it running and interesting. I will take from a variety of sources and write about a variety of things, from my education and university transfer to comic books to TV shows.

A fairly typical nerd agenda.
